Our Story
Hello, I'm Anna. I live in the Cotswolds with my husband, our two children and the head of the household, Fred the Border Terrier.
I've always been drawn to timeless interiors, particularly classic blue and white ceramics. Combined with a lifelong love of lamps, these influences became the inspiration behind Balt&Co - handcrafted antique & vintage blue & white ceramic lamps.
Studying art throughout my education gave me a lasting appreciation for design, proportion and craftsmanship. Those lessons still shape the way I source every piece for Balt&Co. Whether it's the curve of a vase, the richness of the cobalt blue or the balance of a pattern, I'm always looking for ceramics that are both beautiful in their own right and perfect for a new life as a lamp.
After moving from London to the Cotswolds, I had the space to pursue this.
I carefully source our vases from antique shops, online auctions and private collections before professionally converting them into lamps using premium solid brass fixtures & fittings and a soft gold twisted fabric flex with white plug. The lamps are then PAT tested before dispatch to ensure they meet current UK safety standards.
I believe a beautifully proportioned blue and white lamp is wonderfully versatile, sitting just as comfortably in a traditional country home as it does in a more contemporary interior. Whether placed on a bedside table, beside a favourite armchair or as the centrepiece on a dining table, each lamp is designed to become a piece you'll enjoy for years to come.
As every ceramic base is individually sourced, no two lamps are ever exactly the same.
